Onboarding Checklist

  • Updated

Yearli has created a checklist of items to help you prepare for the season. Ask yourself the questions below to better understand what areas you need to focus on. Next, review the articles located here in the Quick Start Guide to help you check them off.

Source Data

  • What is the software application that contains your data?
  • What export options does your source application offer?
  • Yearli Tip: Check Yearli to see if your software is integrated for easy importing or use our Excel import format.

Data Validations

  • Is your import file ready to import?
  • Yearli Tip: Once you import, Yearli will run a series of validations to determine if you have any missing or invalid data. If errors exist, an Audit Report can be downloaded that highlights and explains each error. When this occurs, you can fix your original file or edit the Audit Report directly for re-import.

State Reporting

  • Does your source data include State reporting data?
  • Do you have State specific information (such as State IDs) organized and ready?
  • Yearli Tip: Check our State help tool for State specific requirements.

Contractor TIN

  • Do you have TINs for all of your 1099 contractors?
  • Yearli Tip: Gather all of the data you can early on to save you time before the filing deadline!

IRS TIN Matching

  • Have you verified all of your Contractor or Recipient TINs?
  • Yearli Tip: Consider checking the IRS TIN Matching system in Yearli to avoid IRS B Notices.

Recipient Delivery

  • Do you want to use Online Retrieval for your recipient documents?
  • Yearli Tip: If so, make sure you have valid email addresses in your import file.
