Yearli Import Template

  • Updated

The Yearli Import Template is an excel file that offers the proper formatting for Yearli to import your data. Simply put, if you copy and paste your data to this excel file, you can import it into Yearli!

Let's break this file down a bit. First, notice the four tabs at the bottom of the file. Sample Import (this is the actual template which currently contains sample data to help you understand what data goes where), Instructions (form specific details about the import template can be found here), and Field Length and Format (field specific information to help you format your data for importing is detailed here).

Notice how the columns at the top represent a field from the form you selected. That's exactly what they are! When you're filling out this excel file, each column will represent a box from the form you selected.

[Yearli Tip: Do not add, rename, or delete columns in the Yearli Import template. To ensure a smooth and successful import, it is best not to modify the Yearli Template in any way!]

As you're filling out the template, each line in excel will represent an individual recipient's form. This is why you'll see a Payer's Name and Payer's Address repeated multiple times in the first columns, there is more than one recipient (form) for this Payer.

[Yearli Tip: You can have as many Payers on one excel import as you'd like. You can also import each Payer separately if you prefer.]

On this template, the recipient information begins in column R. (Your template may be different depending on the form type you select).

You may be asking yourself what are those red columns all about? Well, the red columns represent required data for import. If you leave a field in a red column blank, Yearli won't be able to check your file and begin the import process.

[Yearli Tip: If a column is grey, it doesn't mean the field isn't required. It just means it may be left blank if the form doesn't require it. Don't worry, once you import we'll show you any errors you may have.]

Once your file is complete, you can begin importing into Yearli. When you import, an error check will run and provide a detailed report letting know where to fix any issues.
